Testimonials from Runners, Triathletes, & Active Adults in Arlington, VA
After running two marathons in a single year — my first ever — I developed Achilles tendinitis and needed someone who could meet me where I was: a committed athlete unwilling to simply stop running. Dr Greg Lemek delivered.
From the first session, his knowledge and attentiveness were clear. He listened carefully, explained the mechanics of my injury in plain terms, and designed a recovery program that let me keep running while steadily healing. He evaluated and recognized my abilities and limits, respecting them from the start, and built a realistic program around them.
As an active athlete himself, Greg understands the mindset and the frustration of being injured mid-training. I never felt dismissed or rushed — I felt heard.
Highly recommend to any runner or athlete dealing with overuse injuries. He won't just help you recover — he'll help you recover right.

Sought out Greg’s advice after trying to navigate a nagging running injury and wanting to get advice about my running mechanics and form as I tried to build back up for some half marathon races. Overall very positive experience. Greg videotaped and analyzed my running form and he was very helpful in suggesting various warm ups, stretches, and strengthening exercises. His training in PT combined with knowledge of endurance sports is a nice combination and I would recommend him for anyone who is building up volume and wants to stay healthy while doing so.

I’ve really enjoyed my sessions with Greg so far. I’ve had a nagging calf issue for a few years that’s prevented me from running regularly without pain, and Greg has identified it as a neuropathy and we’re working on treating that while keeping in mind my other fitness goals. I’ve particularly appreciated his holistic approach, looking at other factors such as stress and sleep playing into my injury, and how he pushes me to think critically about other aspects of my life beyond just the obvious physical injury.

I have had multiple injuries in the past and have had the privilege of having Greg as a physical therapist! He has been knowledgeable of all of my problem areas and provides different and unique ways to target those areas for improvement. He’s also a joy to be around, great sense of humor while being empathetic, understanding and supportive. He’s been truly the best!

Orthopedist said i could never run again without pain, swelling and being slow. Six months with Greg and I finished Cherry Blossom 10 miler in 4th place in the age group with only a bit of soreness. I recommend him for serious athletes.

Working with Greg has been a game changer for me ….his collaborative and educational treatment approach has given me the tools and insights into how to adapt my movement so I can build strength and endurance without pain. And all towards my own functional goals—like sitting in a chair, playing my violin, picking up a case of water, or swimming over a mile!!

Shoulder had been bothering me in some acute cases which was hard to track down for over a decade. Persist PT took a look at all aspects of my life, from work to exercise to the incline angle of my driver seat. Through constant consideration and meticulous attention to detail, we eventually found the changes necessary to relieve my pain. Could not recommend a better solution.
