Physical Therapy for Foot & Ankle Pain
in Arlington, VA
Foot and ankle pain can derail your training—whether it’s sharp heel pain during push-off or a stiff, aching Achilles that nags through your miles. Issues like plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy are common in runners, but that doesn’t mean they’re something you just have to live with. Imaging often shows thickening, bone spurs, or “degeneration” that sounds alarming, but these changes are also found in pain-free runners—and they don’t predict recovery.
I take an active, individualized approach to help you rebuild strength, tolerance, and running capacity from the ground up. Research strongly supports progressive strengthening for both plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy (Rathleff et al., 2015; Silbernagel et al., 2007), often outperforming passive treatments like rest or injections. Whether you’re ramping up mileage or training for a race, we’ll build a plan that gets you back to running stronger, smoother, and with less risk of setbacks.
